Bangladesh Cards Ltd is setting up a state-of-the-art, fully compliance and multiple-sector certified Smart Cards manufacturing facility at Kaliakoir Hi-Tech Park, Gazipur. The plant is designed to manufacture every category of smart card and a range of specialised security products for Bangladesh's Information, Communication, Telecommunication, Transportation and Technology sectors.
Separately, a modern Security Printing facility — built with the latest technology and advanced security measures — is associated with the smart card plant, extending added services to every sector it serves. Both operations are housed in the same building complex, sharing quality systems, compliance infrastructure and logistics.
Bangladesh currently imports all types of smart cards and related products from overseas. Once operational, this facility removes that dependency entirely, saving the country foreign currency worth hundreds of millions of US dollars every year — while building export capacity of its own.
